A prática do enfermeiro na atenção primária à saúde: contribuições para a prevenção da obesidade na primeira infância

Abstract

In Brazil, childhood obesity is seen as a public health problem. This is a complex disorder and multifactor. This study has relevance because it is a current topic that is present on the societys daily. The aim of this study was to understand the practice developed by nurses in Primary Health Attention which factor contributes to the promotion of obesity in early childhood. Method: This is a literature review that used as a research sources the portal Virtual Health Library - VHL (SciELO) and LILACS. Used as descriptors: Obesity; Nursing, preschool and Health Promotion. The criteria to include the paper in the analyses were the publications in Portuguese, which occurred in the last 10 years. We identified 75 articles being done to reverse search (1) Article (1) protocol, which allowed a final sample of 39 articles. We also included the protocols of the Ministry of Health that dealt with the theme. The articles and protocols were read to identify the actions of nurses on the prevention of childhood obesity. Results: The data analysis allowed the identification of four themes, namely the prevalence of childhood obesity, the benefits of the practice of healthy eating for children's health, inadequate complementary feeding and the risks that can bring to the child's health and actions of the nurse in the prevention of childhood obesity. We found that childhood obesity is a multifactor disease with a high prevalence worldwide. May be related to diet, lifestyle and sedentary. We also emphasize that the treatment of childhood obesity is important to the level of a multidisciplinary team (physician, nurse nutritionist, physical educator, psychologist and family). The best treatment is prevention.
