Perfil do docente de uma escola de nível técnico de enfermagem na região metropolitana de Belo Horizonte

Abstract

Studies of the profile of teachers subsidize reflections on possible weaknesses of them, thus contributing to the improvement of education. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the profile of teachers in a school of nursing at technical level in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, as well as point out the main characteristics of the same. We conducted primary research of a descriptive nature and transverse, with teachers of the course of a Practical Nursing Practical Nursing School in Vespasian, MG. The survey instrument was a questionnaire used in the project "Analysis of the implementation of CEFPEPE, offered in 2008, the eight poles that make up the system UAB / / MEC-UFMG". This questionnaire has been approved by the Ethics in Research - COEP UFMG and is intended to identify the profile of teachers of Practical Nursing course. The sample consisted of 16 teachers. Data were tabulated in absolute frequency and relative frequency. The results indicate that the majority of respondents were female and aged 26 to 35 years. Most were graduate nursing and were entering professional life, and nearly half had a specialization course. Most respondents had no children. Religion presented varied and most had an income of three minimum wages. The majority lived in the same municipality in which the school is located, and some lived in other neighboring counties. It is concluded that the profile of teaching the course in question was presented varied, but can be seen for some factors hindering the exercise of teaching, among them the lack of pedagogical training and exercise of other professional activities, the latter being a factor that causes work overload. It is suggested that further studies be conducted in other primary schools, with a more representative sample, to allow new inferences or reflections on the process of teaching in nursing.
