Abstract: | The increasing complexity in the business environments has transformed the information and the ability to deal with it in strategic issue for organizations, especially when considering the relativity and the subjective aspects of rationality involved in decision making processes. This context points to the essentiality to analyze the behaviors and informational skills involved in the organizational context, before which presents a question: how to study the subjectivity present in search behaviors and use of information in decision-making? This research aimed to analyze the subjective aspects and individuals efforts to interpret a reality while engaged in activities involving decisions. Were investigated, through the use of methods that privileged the symbolic dimensions, the informational behaviors involved in a decision making process at the operational level - the activity of subject analysis - set in an university library. The results showed that the instruments utilized, specially the Clinical Approach of Information and the Archetypal Test with Nine Elements (AT-9), allowed to observe how subjectivity affects the decision making process. More specifically, they made possible the comprehension of how subjective aspects are integrated to individual skills to influence this process. |
