Campo-cidade-região: transformações prováveis a partir da implantação de empreendimentos mineradores no Norte de Minas Gerais

Abstract

The North of Minas Gerais is about to receive mining ventures that involve, in a very near future, a new regional organization, with changes both within and in the cultural landscape of the region. The companies have not yet started its operations and impact studies are not yet completed, becoming quite speculative indication of future scenarios, both in its positive or negative impacts. Given this context, we seek to evaluate the potential impact of economic activity on the territory and landscape, with the spatial area microregion Alto Rio Pardo. What best characterizes and identifies the microregion is the field and not cities. These are presented roughly only as points of connection between the country and the world. In this scenario the ongoing changes in the regional economy, in order to experience greater warming with the inclusion of mining activity, may contribute to a reversal in this scenario and the cities within those microregions today points of connection to the field, in the context of emergency of a new economic activity will tend to become central points. With regard to everyday life, the city probably will be the meeting place, but as fears Lefebvre, could become the place of passage between work and home. In this scenario, the City of Taiobeiras, which has been outstanding since the last decade as the centrality microregion, speculated, tends to have strengthened this position through the implementation of projects miners. If, on one hand, will be the effective implementation of projects that will confirm whether or not the scene of deep local and regional that seems to delineate the other, properly manage existing processes as compelling figure in mitigating the adverse effects that historically are associated with such ventures.
