Aposentadoria docente: uma reflexão sobre o sentido do trabalho

Abstract

This study sought to contextualize the retirement of teachers of the Institute of Biological ciences, after the 1990s, in a period of changes in the country's education policies, creating the teacher evaluation system and changing the retirement criteria of this category of professionals. As a result of the change process and the weight given to research, through publications in indexed journals, there was a movement for retirement, sometimes precocious, for not adapting to the new system of competitiveness. The study was carried out through in-depth interview methodology and documentary research. Two themes were presented: Neoliberalism, Globalization and Competitiveness, a theme evaluated within a political context, and Changes in the Sense of Work, the latter reflective and evaluated within the perspective of work psychology. We conclude that all this process changed the way the teacher works and demanded from the teacher a preparation that was not offered by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where the study took place. We also found a high rate of dismissal by teachers and technicians in the Institute of Biological Sciences for mental and behavioral disorders, which may be a symptom that some intervention should be done by the institution in the sense To evaluate the effect of the work on these servers.
