Condições de trabalho docente no ensino superior na rede privada na modalidade educação a distância

Abstract

According to Harvey (1998), the society suffered a moment of significant changes regarding the cultural, political and economic. For this author, these changes began about three decades of the late twentieth century, and are interrelated to the creation of more flexible modes of capital accumulation. In the context of this emergency, new technologies arise that alter significantly the way that people interact, both in professional and personal. In this perspective we can consider that the DTIC (Digital Technological of Information and Communication) became an essential element in the relations of production and work. In the educational field it is clear the influence of these new devices and technological innovationsin labor relations. In the bulge of the new requirements demanded by the globalization process and internationalization of the economy the teaching profession, like other professions, are forced to incorporate and suit some skills and expertise in the management of digital information and communication. In the late of the 1990s and in the beginning of the twentyfirst century in Brazil, occurred the expansion of the distance courses supply. Facing this type of education, there is the tutor/virtual teacher. These professionals develop teaching activities in different ways and in different contexts. The outline of this study investigated tutors andteachers professionals with employment in private institutions of higher education. This research aimed to analyze the general conditions of teaching in higher education in private schools in DE in Minas Gerais. The initial hypothesis of this work has focused on the intensification of teachers work processes mediated by the Internet. It was also discussed the strategies used by the operating system of accumulation as a result of the lack of legal aspects that regulate this professional as well as other elements that were central objects of this investigation. In this sense, there are the following questions: What changes can be observed in the work of the educator when teaching processes are established under the influence of new technologies? How the working conditions are set from the changes introduced by the technology of teaching and distance education mode? In which instance of law the virtual teaching is situated in the contemporary society? And the legal system that regulate theprofession of virtual teaching? What are the knowledge and skills that these professionals must possess to realize teaching practices that contemplate the educational principle? The field research was performed in three private institutions in Belo Horizonte and metropolitan area, called in this work IES1 IES2 and IES3. 27 professionals that work with distance graduate were investigated. So, it is understood that the questions made in this research, especially in respect of the intensification processes of teaching and the lack of regulatory elements related to the legal systems were made by means of reflection, dialogue with the authors and with data collected. It is known that much remains to be discussed with regard to teaching in distance education, including questions related with the job of this professional. Considering that, it is understood that this work represents the beginning of a discussion andanswers to many challenges that are still far from being solved.
