dc.description.abstract | Periodontal diseases tend to become more acute during pregnancy due to dietary changes and hormonal and psychological wife. It is considered the pregnancy, the period most susceptible to incorporate new habits, attitudes and behaviors. Access to dental consultation in prenatal care needs to become routine in the FHS (Family's Health Strategy). It is a privileged space to promote Oral Health and through the Health Education develop such an awareness of responsibility for the health of pregnant women and their children, acting in a positive manner in primary prevention. OBJECTIVES: to reflect on the importance of health education as a strategy for promoting oral health during pregnancy, emphasizing the prevention of periodontal diseases. METHODS: This study is a literature review, held from the literature of scientific articles, monographs and dissertations related to the subject and obtained information search in virtual data bases: BVS - (LILACS, BIREME, MEDLINE, SCIELO ) and Google Scholar. We included only studies published between early 2000 and March 2010. It was used to search the following keywords: pregnant, education in oral health, periodontal diseases in pregnancy and the FHP. After reading the texts, the contents were analyzed and organized according to the similarity of the issues referenced. CONCLUSIONS: It is important to know the condition of oral health of pregnant and perception regarding dental care, demystifying beliefs that still exist concerning the dental treatment, this must be done when necessary and with resolution, avoiding the oral health disorders. The consolidation of new concepts for the Promotion of Health requires surgeons, dentists, awareness and consciousness of their role in Oral Health Collective. It is the duty of the State and the rights of pregnant women receive dental care during pregnancy, part of the Womens Integrated Health core, and determine the Politics of Public Health. | pt_BR |
dc.description.resumo | As doenças periodontais tendem a ficar mais aguçadas durante a gravidez devido a alterações alimentares, hormonais e psicológicas da mulher. Considera-se a gravidez o período mais suscetível para incorporação de novos hábitos, atitudes e comportamentos. O acesso à consulta odontológica no pré-natal precisa tornar-se rotina na Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF). Trata-se de um espaço privilegiado para promover Saúde Bucal, e através da Educação em Saúde, desenvolver a consciência de responsabilidade da gestante pela sua saúde e dos seus filhos, atuando, de maneira positiva, na prevenção primária. OBJETIVOS: fazer uma reflexão sobre a importância da educação em saúde como estratégia de promoção de saúde bucal no período gestacional, dando ênfase à prevenção das doenças periodontais. METODOLOGIA: Este trabalho consiste em uma revisão de literatura, realizada a partir do levantamento bibliográfico de artigos científicos, monografias e dissertações relacionadas ao tema e obtidas através da busca de informações nas bases virtuais de dados: BVS (LILACS, BIREME, MEDLINE, SCIELO) e GOOGLE SCHOLAR. Foram incluídos apenas os trabalhos publicados entre o início do ano 2000 e março do ano de 2010. Utilizou-se para a busca as seguintes palavras-chave: gestantes, educação em saúde bucal, doenças periodontais na gravidez e saúde bucal no PSF. Após a leitura dos textos, os conteúdos foram analisados e organizados segundo a semelhança dos assuntos que referenciavam. CONCLUSÕES: É importante conhecer a condição de saúde bucal e a percepção da gestante em relação à atenção odontológica, desmistificando crenças que ainda persistem envolvendo o tratamento odontológico. Quando necessário este deve ser realizado com resolutividade, evitando agravos à saúde bucal. A consolidação dos novos conceitos de Promoção de Saúde requer dos cirurgiõesdentistas sensibilização e consciência do seu papel na Saúde Bucal Coletiva. É dever do Estado e direito da gestante, receber atenção odontológica na gravidez, parte da Saúde Integral da Mulher, como determinam as Políticas Públicas de Saúde. | pt_BR |
