dc.description.abstract | The present study proposes a transient model for simulation of the cooling system of an internal combustion vehicle from a given speed cycle previously defined. With the developed model, three different simple control strategies of a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) driven fan are studied: lookup table, PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) and Fuzzy logic concepts, which assists in the energy efficiency of the vehicle, reducing the energy demanded by the alternator. The control parameters of the strategies studied are subjected to an optimization algorithm in order to find the most efficient calibration for each of them, maintaining the temperature at the acceptable levels of engine operation (defined in the model between 90 and 105°C), in addition to achieving the components energy efficiency objectives. The results obtained by the control parameters adjustment indicate an energy reduction by the component through the Fuzzy logic concept strategy of approximately 85%, whose final energy level remained below that the obtained by the other two strategies. The PID control strategy was the one with the lowest percentage reduction among the simulated strategies. | pt_BR |
| pt_BR |
