Resumo
A Constituição Federal de 1988, ao conceder autonomia às unidades federativas sobre a
temática das emancipações distritais, contribuiu para que surgisse um novo surto
emancipacionista no Brasil. O reflexo foi a criação de mais de mil municípios; em Minas
Gerais foram 130. A questão é: pode-se medir o grau de sucesso dessas emancipações
utilizando indicadores socioeconômicos que permita inferir sobre a sustentabilidade
desses municípios? Nesta pesquisa foram utilizados o Índice de Desenvolvimento
Humano Municipal (IDH-M) e o Coeficiente de Gini. Os resultados permitiram congregar
os municípios em quatro classes e avaliar a dinâmica dos municípios recém-criados frente
às outras categorias.
Abstract
The Federal Constitution of 1988, by granting autonomy to the federative units over the
theme of district emancipations, contributed to the emergence of a new outbreak
emancipationist in Brazil. The result was the creation of more than a thousand municipalities; in Minas
Overall there were 130. The question is: can we measure the degree of success of these emancipations
using socioeconomic indicators that allow inferences about sustainability
