Engajamento na reabilitação neuropediátrica

Abstract

Engagement in neuropediatric rehabilitation is considered a determining factor to obtain positive results in therapeutic intervention and to maintain these gains outside the therapeutic environment. The aim of the present study was to identify evidence in the scientific literature of the impact of engagement in pediatric rehabilitation. A search was carried out in the PubMed database, using the keywords engagement, rehabilitation and neuropediatric, encompassing publications in English from the last five years. Five articles from observational studies with quantitative and qualitative measures were included to assess the engagement of children, parents and service providers in a setting of pediatric neurorehabilitation. The findings validate the engagement measures, due to the replication of the tests. And the results of other studies identified engagement patterns and factors that contribute to their development. The professionals involved in pediatric neurorehabilitation can base their practice according to the outcomes found, orienting themselves on their own engagement and also that of the child and his family.
