O ensino bilíngue de surdos sob a perspectiva da translinguagem

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to consider the importance of translanguaging in the bilingual education of the deaf,pointing out examples of practices that have been used in teaching deaf students. To do that, a research review was carried out in texts that discuss the importance of translanguaging in bilingual educational contexts,focusing on deaf education.The research highlighted the innovative value of translanguaging by conceptualizing language as a social practice, in which teachers and students use sign language, the majority language, as well as other semiotic resources aiming at bilingual learning. The examples presented in this article, found both in the literature and in the practice of one of the authors, illustrate translingual strategies used by teachers in teaching deaf students.
