Pearltrees in Nutrition: criando uma Curadoria Digital para o TCC

Abstract

This work was proposed due to the fact that most students do not recognize the importance of knowing English nowadays, nor can they envision the relationship between this academic subject and the others in the syllabus. An attempt to change this situation would be through the presentation of an immediate use for the language that is close to the students' reality. Therefore, a didactic project was designed, considering the particularities of the academic subject of English for Specific Purposes in the Bachelor's Degree Course in Nutrition at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará, Limoeiro do Norte Campus. Thus, the goal of this work was to propose the creation of a portfolio in Pearltrees (https://www.pearltrees.com/) with these students during one semester, so that they select texts in English that will help them in the construction of the Literature Review section of their Term Paper. The identification of new paths for English language teaching and learning is advocated from the perspective of researchers such as Leffa (2012) and Rojo (2015). The methodology consisted of a detailed description of the implementation of this didactic proposal. It is expected that students will be able to use the tool appropriately and to recognize the role of the English language as an ally in the access to research which is being developed in several parts of the world.
