Kant e os fundamentos transcendentais da mecânica newtoniana

Abstract

An important part of Immanuel Kant’s philosophy was dedicated to the foundation of human knowledge and, in particular, to the explanation of the a priori bases of Newtonian physics. In view of the treatment that Kant offered to the philosophical questions raised by classical mechanics this work dealt with: i) understand form a Kantian point of view the need for the constitution of a natural science philosophy; ii) explain how he developed, in a systematic and articulated way, the existing connection between the principles of pure understanding, presented in the Critique of Pure Reason (1781, 1787), and the principles of Newtonian physics; iii) understand how he interpreted Newtonian mechanics from the general laws of understanding.
