Entre fronteira e litoral : um percurso da recusa histérica aos testemunhos esporádicos do não-todo

Abstract

This research intended to weave an approximation between the littoral and the feminine, considering that there is something in the not-all jouissance that challenges the hysterical mechanisms of refusal of the feminine. Having as a guide the Lacanian expression of the "sporadic testimonies" of the not-all, we worked on the theoretical-clinical implications of considering the irruptions of the feminine when testified by hysterical subjects, structurally located in the so-called "male" side of sexuation. In order to do so, we extracted from the figures of the littoral and the frontier, as addressed by Lacan in "Lituraterre", their logic of operation, so as to investigate both the capacity of hysterical obstacles to protect the subject from the feminine jouissance and the singular consequences of the irruptions of such jouissance over the subject. Then, we were able to approach the heterogeneity proper to the not-all jouissance and to question whether the logic of the frontier – provided first-hand by the hysterical modus operandi – would be consistent enough to operate a successful separation between the hysteric subject and feminine jouissance. Finally, we extracted, from the sporadic testimonies of the not-all in the clinic of hysterias, an invitation to transpose the logic of the frontier towards a logic of the littoral – which involves a doing between two heterogeneous registers – to approach the hysteria-feminine interface.
