Estágio de evolução e maturidade das plataformas de acesso e descrição arquivística no cenário brasileiro

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the structure of access and archival description platforms in the first three organizations to implement the AtoM platform in Brazil: the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG), the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), and the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). These organizations, with over a decade of experience using AtoM, play a pioneering role in its implementation in the country, having faced significant challenges due to the lack of national references at the time. Given the pioneering work of these organizations, the research seeks to discuss the evolution of the platforms and the factors that influence the maturity process of these technologies within the Brazilian archival context. To this end, a prototype was developed to measure the maturity stages of access and description platforms, aiming to create a tool that supports the quality control of the technologies used. The developed prototype proposes a verification matrix based on quality management principles, composed of dimensions and indicators that contribute to the continuous improvement of archival access and description platforms, with a focus on archival management and governance. In this way, the prototype is situated within archival governance, as it provides a framework to guide, monitor, and evaluate archival practices and processes in a systematic and structured manner. The methodology adopted is exploratory and descriptive in nature, with data collection carried out through a questionnaire administered to the three organizations studied, aiming to identify the factors that influence the evolution of the platforms and the strategies adopted for their consolidation. Data analysis allowed the identification of similarities, differences, and convergences in the implementation of the platform, enabling the creation of the prototype. To provide a theoretical foundation for the research, a literature review was conducted in the fields of archival science, quality management, and information technologies. The review aimed to identify key concepts and explore the intersection between these fields.
