Projeto de intervenção: manejo e prevenção da hipertensão arterial sistêmica em pacientes adultos na unidade básica de saúde de Custodópolis, Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

Systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) represents the main risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, and its early diagnosis has been emphasized as an important strategy in public health. Professionals in the primary care network play a fundamental role in developing such strategies for the management and control of this disease. This intervention project aims to present a proposal for an action plan for the control of systemic arterial hypertension in patients registered at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) of Custodópolis, which belongs to the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes. To achieve this, it involved the stages of (1) presenting the municipality and a situational strategic health diagnosis using the rapid assessment method by the family health team (ESF), for a better understanding of the existing problem, which identified the critical node "arterial hypertension." Thus, a high prevalence of arterial hypertension and its main risk factors were verified; (2) literature review addressing systemic arterial hypertension and its conceptual aspects and (3) presentation of the intervention proposal. This project only becomes possible as the method allows to act in a reality focused on the problem and providing health promotion. This proposal presents operations to be carried out on three critical nodes: promoting ongoing education and health promotion actions, promoting regular physical activity practices, and promoting nutritional guidance. The study showed that knowledge of the disease combined with the practice of a healthy lifestyle ensures adequate control and reduces the risk of later complications. It is expected that this work will achieve a higher level of education and health promotion, thus offering the population an improvement in quality of life.
