Da janela lateral: sobre crianças, corpo e(m) movimento e a presença da educação física nos centros municipais de educação infantil de Contagem/MG

Abstract

The present study aims to understand the role occupied by Physical Education within the curricular organization of Early Childhood Education in Contagem/MG, identifying the limits and potentialities of the reference teachers' involvement in working with elements of movement culture. This includes understanding the selection of content, objectives, and applied methodologies. The research involved eight educators teaching at a Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education (CEMEI) in Contagem, using a qualitative, descriptive approach through semi-structured interviews, discussion group organization, and the use of a diary as a means of recording observations from the field. The teachers' statements were analyzed, interpreted, and organized into three categories: pedagogical, structural, and behavioral. The goal was to comprehend the influence these categories have on the pedagogical intervention proposed by the lead teachers concerning practical experiences with Body and Movement (Physical Education) in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, the research aims to draw attention to the need for appreciation of work within this educational stage, as well as investments in infrastructure, material resources, and professional development.
