Magda Soares e sua produção intelectual no campo da alfabetização, leitura e escrita no Brasil (1959-1998)

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate, from a historical perspective, the work of Magda Soares. It is the result of an inter-institutional project developed at two institutions in Minas Gerais: the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). We present an inventory of Soares' intellectual production during the period she worked at UFMG, that is, between 1959 and 1998, the year she retired. The data reflect her work as an undergraduate and graduate professor, as a thesis and dissertation adviser, engaged in studies of language and education, particularly literacy. The analysis is preliminary; however, the inventoried data collected are presented as a valuable resource for research in the fields of literacy, reading, and writing.
