Felicidade pasteurizada : o imperativo do ser feliz na clínica contemporanêa

Abstract

This paper aims to reflect on the importance of suffering as a human condition and, therefore, inherent to life, discussing the negative impacts for existences submitted to the imposition of being happy. The contemporary brings different impacts on the intersubjective ways of being to those who share the same time, therefore the forms of contemporary suffering are directly related to the forms of social organization. In this sense, we propose to think about the social and intersubjective dimensions in contemporary clinical practice from the critical-theoretical perspective of philosophers Giorgio Agamben and Byung-Chul Han. From this, we aim to develop the concept of pasteurized happiness, in an attempt to problematize the harmful contemporary search for a so-called ideal happiness. Finally, we intend to question the pathologization of human ways of being and the position of the psychology professional in face of this imperative. In this path, we will use the theoretical assumptions of Giovanetti (2019), Cabanas and Ilouz (2022), Holz-Kunz (2018), Freire (2010), among others.
