O futebol feminino e as representações dos estudantes sobre gênero e lazer em uma instituição escolar

Abstract

The socceris a predominantly male sport, representing an environment of preservation and public expression of traditional norms of masculinity. In general, in women's football there have been recognized advances. This study aims to identify the representations of female soccer students in a public school in Belo Horizonte. As methodology, it used document analysis and group technique, with the participation of eight students.The results indicate that, in the school in question, the imperative of masculinity in soccer predominates, based on the distinction of men and women by biological criteria and all regardless of gender should experience leisure in football.This has implied prejudices, inequalities, hierarchies and sexism towards women's soccer practice.
