O princípio universal da solidariedade como direito humano-fundamental

Abstract

The object of this study is to demonstrate the development of the principle of solidarity, as a fundamental human right, on its historical course based on the Christian doctrine, when the moral value of brotherhood is cultivated hand-in-hand with the virtue of Christian love (caritas) to form the moral awareness of human beings. This awareness, in its intersubjectivity, promotes the formation of ethos, where values are developed socially and politically until they turn into a legal principle of solidarity, through a Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, and thus become mandatory. From this moment on, solidarity is no longer just a moral obligation; it becomes a right, understood as a maxim of ethics that lies at the foundation of the ethical universe of man.
