Abstract: | Introduction: The theme of this research is about the treatment of injuries with the aid of nutrition. It is an important topic to be developed due to the fact that nutrition presents new knowledge regarding the direct relationship between healthy food consumption and health, demonstrating how the effects of food compounds can act in the wound healing process. Thus, this study seeks to show that this process is fundamental for the closure of an injury. Objective: Identify the nutritional aspects in the wound healing process. To achieve the proposed objective, the research method adopted was an integrative literature review, with a search for articles in the Scielo, VHL, PubMed and CINAHL databases for the last eight years. Result and discussion: healing is influenced by risk factors, such as malnutrition and other conditions. On the other hand, the tissue that has suffered damage will depend on substrates for adequate healing. Nutrition, when inadequate, increases a person's chance of developing wounds. In this sense, to accelerate the healing process, nutritional therapy is indicated based on the use of protein formulas and micronutrients. Final considerations: nutrition is an essential factor for the wound healing process, since good nutritional status contributes significantly to tissue regeneration. Keywords: Healing. Wound. Lesion.
