| Abstract: | Quando sentimos o perigo aproximar-se, não podemos rejeitar impunemente o apelo que nos fazem as imagens do passado, como nos ensina Walter Benjamin. Pretendemos refletir sobre a retomada de certa modalidade de imagem de arquivo – os retratos de identidade/identificação – na obra Imemorial (Rosângela Rennó, 1994) e no filme 48 (Susana de Sousa Dias, 2009). Por um lado, esses retratos são vestígios de uma cena produzida sob as regras do poder disciplinar; por outro, tais vestígios são retrabalhados na tessitura das obras e concorrem para uma menor ou maior abertura das imagens, que possa trazer à luz o seu avesso. |
| Abstract: | When we feel danger approaching, we cannot, with impunity, reject the appeal of images of the past, as Walter Benjamin teaches us. We reflect here on the reawakening of a certain modality of archival image - the portraits of identity / identification - in the work Immemorial (Rosângela Rennó, 1994) and in the film 48 (Susana de Sousa Dias, 2009). In a sense, these portraits are vestiges of a scene produced under the rules of disciplinary power; in another sense, these vestiges are reworked within the texture of the works and contribute to a smaller or greater opening of the images, so that they can bring to light their reverse. |
