| Abstract: | Nesse artigo estabelece-se um diálogo entre o livro de artista Unheimlich: imaginário popular brasileiro (2006) e a obra Histoire naturelle, générale et particulière, avec la description du Cabinet du Roy (1749), do naturalista, matemático e escritor francês Georges-Louis Leclerc, conde de Buffon. Buscando aproximar arte e ciência, é proposto um diálogo entre Ondina, de Corrêa, e Criança monstruosa pela transposição das víceras, da obra de Buffon, notando-se que, ao mesmo tempo em que a arte se apropria e subverte imagens geradas a partir da observação científica, a ciência utiliza procedimentos artísticos para obter diferentes modos de registro da realidade. |
| Abstract: | In this article, we establish a dialogue between the artist’s book Unheimlich: Brazilian popular imagination (2006) and the naturalist, mathematician and French writer Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon’s work Histoire naturelle, générale et particulière, avec la description du Cabinet du Roy (1749). Seeking to approach art and science, it proposes a dialogue between Corrêa’s Ondina, and Buffon’s Child monstrous by the transposition of the viscera, noting that, while art appropriates and subverts images generated from scientific observation, science uses artistic procedures for different modes to register reality. |
