| Abstract: | O trabalho analisa em que medida as características dos municípios explicam a variação nos investimentos da Secretaria de Estado de Educação. Intenta-se verificar se a alocação dos recursos estaduais nas escolas contribuiu para agravar, ou reduzir, a desigualdade educacional na rede estadual de Minas Gerais. A monografia se concentra na relação entre as características municiais e os gastos com obras e instalações realizados em 2012, ano mais recente com eleições para prefeitos e vereadores. A análise consiste, exclusivamente, em metodologia quantitativa utilizando estatística descritiva. |
| Abstract: | The paper analyzes how the characteristics of the municipalities explain the variation in the investments of the State Department of Education. Attempts to verify if the allocation of state resources in schools contributed to exacerbate or reduce educational inequality in the state system of Minas Gerais. The monograph focuses on the relationship between municipal characteristics and spending on works and installations made in 2012, the most recent year with elections for mayors and city councils. The analysis consists exclusively in quantitative methodology using descriptive statistics. |
