| Abstract: | A lignina é um componente natural das forragens e está presente nas dietas dos ruminantes como um fator antinutricional por reduzir a digestibilidade da fibra no rúmen. Portanto, o conhecimento aprofundado sobre a lignina e como minimizar seu efeito negativo é a chave para progredir na melhoria do valor nutritivo das fontes volumosas lignificadas utilizadas na alimentação animal. O objetivo deste trabalho foi revisar o processo de lignificação na célula vegetal e compreender o mecanismo de ação das principais tecnologias aplicadas a fontes volumosas lignificadas a favor da melhoria de sua qualidade nutricional. |
| Abstract: | Lignin is a forage`s natural component present in ruminants diets as an anti-nutritional factor due to its negative effect on fiber digestibility. Therefore, a deeper understanding of lignin and ways to minimize its effects is key to improve the nutritional value of lignified roughage sources used in animal feed. The objective of this study was to review the lignification process in the plant cell as well as understand the mechanism behind the main technologies applied on lignified forage sources intending to improve nutritional quality. |
