Abstract: | Human sexuality, mainly due to cultural and religious influences, has been the result of profound polemics and divergences in the context of society against those who have gender and/or sexual orientation that diverge from the pattern of heteronormativity. Discriminatory and prejudiced behaviors and biased have been inserted in several spaces, especially in the school environment. Although the role of the school is to educate citizens for diversity and differences, what is verified is that these spaces need to review their principles and practices in relation to sexuality, contributing to the deconstruction of old and outdated paradigms. Given this scenario, this article aimed to discuss gender, human sexuality, and LGBTQIAophobia in the school environment, identifying the primary forms of discrimination suffered by LGBT+ students, with an emphasis on differences and the right to citizenship. Through a systematic review of the literature, we show that the reproduction of distorted ideas about sexual orientation, especially in the school environment, has contributed to the development and consolidation of aggressive and violent behavior against LGBTQIA + individuals. |
