A experiência de estudantes de odontologia com dilemas éticos

Abstract

The university is a privileged space for training people and in this process they are highlighted social, human and ethics. In Dentistry these are established individually between professionals and patients and, collectively, between practice professional and society. This type of study transversal evaluated the experience of dentistry students from a public university with ethical dilemmas experienced during their academic training. For 64 students from the 4th and 5th were interviewed year of the course. A slight predominance of male students (50.7%), aged between 19 and 22 years old. In between of those surveyed, the majority stated that they had contact with the theory of professional ethics during graduation. A quarter of the students interviewed confirmed having gone through some ethically conflicting situation; all considered important the discussion of content that reflects bioethics in the curriculum; and most of the students who said they had experienced any ethical conflict were of sex male and were in the 5th year. It has been verified that ethical dilemmas are perceived by students and experienced during their academic education.
