Abstract:	The Brazilian Ministry of Health determined in 2012 that the official protocol for diagnosis of Canine Visceral Leishmaniasis (CVL) would be the Dual-Path Platform (DPP) for screening, followed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for confirmation. This study evaluated serum samples from 426 dogs from a region in northern Brazil. All samples were tested according to the Official Protocol and the sequence inverting (ELISA followed DPP). Regardless of the protocol adopted, prevalence (14.7%) has not changed. The approach using ELISA followed by DPP state that, the number of positive animals in screening was higher compared to the official protocol. Screen the ELISA test could be more appropriate.
Abstract:	O Ministério da Saúde do Brasil determinou em 2012 que o protocolo oficial para diagnóstico de A Leishmaniose Visceral (LVC) seria a Plataforma de Caminho Duplo (DPP) para triagem, seguida pela ensaio imunoenzimático (ELISA) para confirmação. Este estudo avaliou amostras de soro de 426 cães de uma região do norte do Brasil. Todas as amostras foram testadas de acordo com o Oficial Protocolo e inversão de sequência (ELISA seguido de DPP). Independentemente do protocolo adotado, a prevalência (14,7%) não mudou. A abordagem usando ELISA seguida por DPP afirma que, o número de animais positivos na triagem foi maior em comparação ao protocolo oficial. Faça a triagem do teste ELISA poderia ser mais apropriado.
