| Abstract: | The Southern Espinhaço Ridge and neighboring regions constitute important areas in Brazil for training under-graduate and graduate geology students. Here, we present a geological guide of these regions with relevant outcrops aiming to motivate geology students and facilitate the comprehension of ge-ological processes. Some outcrops of the Espinhaço Supergroup (Paleo-Mesoproterozoic) and Macaúbas and Bambuí groups (Neoproterozoic) are described and located for a field work of four to six days, with emphasis on stratigraphy and sedimentology. The indicated outcrops illustrate various Precambrian siliciclastic and carbonate depositional systems. |
| Abstract: | A Serra do Espinhaço Meridional e regiões limítrofes constituem áreas importantes do Brasil para treinamento de estudantes de geologia em nível de graduação e pós-graduação. Apresenta-se aqui um roteiro geológico destas regiões com afloramentos importantes que visam motivar o estudante de geologia e facilitar a compreensão de processos geológicos. São descritos e localizados afloramentos do Supergrupo Espinhaço (Paleo-Mesoproterozoico) e Grupos Macaúbas e Bambuí (Neoproterozoico) para um trabalho de campo de quatro a seis dias, com ênfase em estratigrafia e sedimentologia. Apresentam-se também diversos afloramentos que ilustram vários sistemas deposicionais siliciclásticos e carbonáticos do Pré-Cambriano. |
