| Abstract: | Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar o potencial dos geossistemas ferruginosos de Minas Gerais, Brasil, para a prática do geoturismo e da educação patrimonial. Foi realizada uma seleção e avaliação de geossítios representativos do geopatrimônio com base no seu potencial geoturístico.Essa avaliação está baseada no levantamento dos geossítios no que se refere ao seu conteúdo, valores, uso atual, uso potencial, limitações, estado de conservação, condições de observação, impactos e propostas. Os resultados indicam que geossistemas ferruginosos têm um rico geopatrimônio que pode ser utilizado para o geoturismo de forma a contribuir para sua valorização e proteção além da difusão do conhecimento científico. |
| Abstract: | This paper is aimed at analysing the potential of the ferruginous geosystems of Minas Gerais, Brazil, for the practice of geotourism and heritage education. We select and evaluate the most representative heritage geossites based mainly on their geotourism potential. This assessment is based on survey of geosites with regard to content, values, current use, potential use, limitations, conservation status, viewing conditions, impacts and proposals. The results indicate that ferruginous geosystems have a rich geoheritage that can be used for geotourism contributing to its valorization and protection beyond the diffusion of scientific knowledge. |
