| Abstract: | Era um dia comum, apesar de um feriado religioso, não havia nada que pudesse demonstrar o perigo iminente e o caos que estava para ocorrer. As pessoas saíram de casa, foram orar, trabalhar, viver a vida. E então, a terra tremeu, o mar subiu, e o fogo chegou. Lisboa foi arrasada. Muitos mortos, muitos feridos e tantos outros fugindo da tragédia. O Rei não sabia como agir, a Igreja, acusava os pecadores e temia um castigo divino. Ocorre que terremoto de Lisboa, ressignificou os desastres. Até 1º de novembro de 1755, eventos catastróficos eram associados à punição divina pelos pecados da humanidade, de fato. A mudança ocorre quando, ao assumir a gestão de Lisboa no meio do caos, o Marquês de Pombal afasta a teologia e organiza o território através de uma sequência de fatos lógicos. Esta pesquisa visa demonstrar como o terremoto de Lisboa em 1755 influenciou a gestão de desastres atual e a Defesa Civil, como política pública. |
| Abstract: | It was an ordinary day, despite a religious holiday, there was nothing that could demonstrate the imminent danger and the danger that might occur. People left home, went to pray, work, live life. And then the earth shook, the sea rose, and the fire came. Lisbon was razed. Many dead, many injured and so many others fleeing the tragedy. The King did not know how to act, the Church, accused sinners and feared divine punishment. It so happens that the Lisbon Earthquake has given new meaning to disasters. Until November 1, 1755, catastrophic events were associated with punishment for the sins of humanity, indeed divine. The change occurs when, by taking over the management of Lisbon in the midst of chaos, the Marquis of Pombal pushes away theology and the organization of the territory through a sequence of logical facts. This research shows how the Lisbon earthquake in 1755 influenced current disaster management and Civil Defense, as a public policy. |
