O processo de criação e implementação do Núcleo de Acolhimento na Escola de Engenharia da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Abstract

The mental health of students and their adaptation to university have been the subject of several studies. This article is an experience report and aims to share experiences and initial reflections on the process of creating and implementing the Welcoming Center of the School of Engineering (Naeeng) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The goal of Naeeng is to provide welcome and guidance to students, technical-administrative staff in education and teaching staff of the School of Engineering of UFMG, by providing a space for differentiated listening, which goes beyond purely administrative procedures. Despite the challenges faced, it is clear that the implementation of the center has been effective, contributing to the proposal of a welcoming university.
