Vantagens da educação à distância na enfermagem: uma revisão integrativa de literatura

Abstract

Distance learning is a teaching/learning methodology that has gained more supporters in recent years, and has facilitated nurses in their ongoing training process. As such, this study dealt with an integrative literature review whose objective was to recognize the advantages of DL in the area of nursing. Three databases were used for the selection of articles: Lilacs, Scielo and Medline. The sample of this review was made up of five articles published in the period from 2003 to 2011. After analyzing the articles included in the review, the study results indicated that DL represented a teaching/learning modality that is suited to the trainig of the nursing professional, who needs to keep up the date, thereby reinforcing the nurses' possibility for inclusion and teaching/learning. The studies highlight the great advantage of the democratization of knowledge, seeing as almost all the authors referred to geographical issues as a restriction to accessing knowledge for many professionals.
