| Abstract: | Foi no final dos anos 1920 e início dos anos 1930 que Adhemar Gonzaga inaugurou um outro papel para si mesmo dentro da história do cinema brasileiro. Dessa data em diante, ele não mais apenas escreveu e liderou campanhas a favor do cinema na imprensa, fundamentalmente em Cinearte, a revista de cinema por ele concebida e criada em 1926: ele fez cinema. Com a construção da Studio Cinédia, o seu projeto mais ambicioso, Gonzaga materializou o meio para realizar o seu projeto estético-cultural para o cinema brasileiro. Projeto orientado por um ideal de modernidade, de nacionalismo, de desenvolvimento e, por mais que pareça incoerente, pelo modelo norte-americano de fazer cinema. Adhemar Gonzaga e as idéias que orientaram esse projeto são os objetos de estudo desta tese. |
| Abstract: | It was in the final of the 1920's and the 1930's that Adhemar Gonzaga started playing himself another role into the history of the Brazilian Cinema. From that date on he did not only write and lead campaigns for the Cinema in the press, mainly in Cinearte, a cinema journal conceived and created by him in 1926: he made Cinema. With the construction of the Studio Cinedia, the most ambitious of his projects, Gonzaga materialized the means to accomplish his cultural sthetical project for the Brazilian Cinema.A project oriented by an ideal of modernity, of nationalism, of development and, although that would seem as an incoherence, by the North American model ofmaking Cinema. Adhemar Gonzaga and the ideas whichoriented that project are the objects of study of this thesis. |
