Abstract: | This work is part of the field of literacies and orality as social practices and of Portuguese language teaching. We consider the teaching of orality very important, given that it provides critical and citizenship awareness to students, in addition to providing them with tools for good argumentation and a good posture when speaking publicly, within the various social demands. The research, in this sense, aimed to analyze the orality practices in Portuguese language classes of teachers who work in elementary school and high school. In order to do this, qualitative research was carried out, through the application of an electronic questionnaire, answered by eight teachers who work in public and private schools in the state of Minas Gerais. The results showed that teachers are increasingly trying, in their practices, to improve the teaching of orality, in addition to making it common in their classes. However, there are still gaps that need to be addressed. |
