Title: Teaching English through critical thinking

Abstract: The teaching units presented in this work were developed based on the idea that learning a language is more likely to happen when learners need to communicate real meaning. The goal is to provide students with opportunities to use their natural strategies for language acquisition. This way, more emphasis on skills than systems is elicited, authentic materials are used and interaction is promoted.
